China's first 2000-kilowatt wind turbine unit with independent intellectual property rights went offline and left the factory yesterday, marking a phased achievement in the 10-billion-yuan emerging wind power equipment industry jointly built by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and Chongqing.
This wind turbine unit was jointly designed and independently developed by CSIC (Chongqing) Haizhuang Wind Power Equipment Company and German Aerodyn Company. It has independent intellectual property rights and is the largest single-unit power domestic turbine; it's the first large-power wind turbine in China that has been tested by the German Wind Energy Research Institute and certified by Germanischer Lloyd.
The wind turbine tower is conical, up to 80 meters high, with a maximum diameter of 6 meters, and will install an elevator inside. It is designed specifically for China's climate environment characteristics and engineering conditions. Currently, China's wind power generation equipment almost entirely relies on imports, with Chongqing-made turbines being about 30% cheaper than imported ones.
