$500 Million Central Asia to South Asia Power Transmission Project Agreement Signed

According to the Afghanistan Times report on November 21, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, and Afghanistan signed a $500 million project agreement to transmit electricity from Central Asia to South Asia. According to the agreement, in the first phase of the project, Tajikistan and Kyrgyz will transmit 130 megawatts of electricity to Afghanistan and Pakistan, with a 750-kilometer high-voltage transmission line. The Asian Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank, and World Bank will provide financing for this project.
